"When you open your mind and hands and heart to the knowing of a thing, there is no room in you for fear"

--Patricia McKillip, The Riddle-Master of Hed

I am going to start filtering some of my more private musings. Since blogger does not have a tool for that, you will need to visit my Live Journal and ask to be friended there. I will continue to post Daily Gratitude and other subjects here.

There is also a FAQ for my Journal at the same link.

written at work this afternoon
One of my coworkers died last night. It was expected as he has had a terminal illness for several years. He outlived his prognosis and the updates we'd received the past few days let us know it would be soon.

He wasn't someone I knew well. he was out sick when I first started in this company. However, when he returned, we had several casual yet cheerful moments. Then I changed jobs and didn't see much of him, then he was out sick again. Now he's dead.

I don't usually dwell on these sorts of things. The energy at work has been strained as the health updates got worse. This morning, one of my close coworkers was fighting back tears and others didn't even try. The saddness and fear was palpable and I had to struggle to ground and shield myself from it. I should have known to be better prepared. My empathic sense always up surprising me.
