"When you open your mind and hands and heart to the knowing of a thing, there is no room in you for fear"

--Patricia McKillip, The Riddle-Master of Hed

I am going to start filtering some of my more private musings. Since blogger does not have a tool for that, you will need to visit my Live Journal and ask to be friended there. I will continue to post Daily Gratitude and other subjects here.

There is also a FAQ for my Journal at the same link.

Last week was the viewing and funeral of my boi's mother. Then we spent two afternoons sorting through bills and financial records at her father's house. When we returned home Friday night, I had decreed that the weekend would be for us to spend time together and get some housekeeping done without interruptions. Rest and cleaning and intimacy were the prescription.

We have weathered incredible amounts of stress and emotional reactions the last three weeks. This weekend we had some pivotal stress points that could have damaged our relationship, or us individually. I think we weathered them well. No fights. No violence. Greater understanding and bonding. The stress is hardly over for us, but I feel that the past few weeks have strengthened our bond and our faith in our relationship. We're in this for the long haul, and we don't feel that will be threatened by any situation. Individual incidents could strain our emotions or set our relationship back, but so far that hasn't happened. We do the work and find the positive outcome.

In many ways, living with someone has turned out to be much easier than I ever expected. I guess waiting for the compatible person was the right thing for me to do. It allowed me to absorb lessons from my foo (family of origin) and watching friends in their relationships over the years. Doing the mental and spiritual work to get myself grounded and centered helped as well.
