I am going to start filtering some of my more private musings. Since blogger does not have a tool for that, you will need to visit my Live Journal and ask to be friended there. I will continue to post Daily Gratitude and other subjects here.
There is also a FAQ for my Journal at the same link.
Robin Williams

Watching OLN's coverage of the Tour I just saw a live interview with Robin Williams. He flew to Paris to watch the end of the tour ("Sometimes you come for the foreplay, sometimes you come for the end"). He raved about this year's Tour and OLN having live coverage (when ESPN held the contract through the 90s, they sometimes aired coverage at 2 and 3 am for a half-hour 'recap'). Apparently, I'm not the only person insane enough to get up at 6 am (5 am on mountain stages) to watch the coverage live...though he used coffee to wake him and I only had my willpower.
Weird to think I have something so obsessive in common with such a talented and professional successful man. Wonder if he's a top too?
I loved that Robin just mingled in the streets with other Tour fanatics (as many celebrities do). Unlike Arnold Schwarzenegger, who showed up earlier in the Tour with a huge entourage, scheduled lots of photo ops, and negotiated his way onto the podium for the day's awards presentations. Sorry, but a American movie star doesn't belong in places of honor in a French sporting event -- especially when it's admitted that his only reason for being in France is to promote "Terminator 3".
