update on my sister
| Sunday, August 03, 2003 @ 15:10 After putting us into a panick on Wednesday, the cardiac specialist backed down and said he's not worried about the immediate status of her heart. He wants to get her breathing issues cleared up first and then assess her problem and how to treat it. So, once they can get the meds stabilized and in-home nursing arranged, she should be headed home. I haven't heard from family since Thursday, so it's possible she's going home as early as today. I'm trying to stay positive. Sis is stubborn, even when scared, and she will hold onto life as long as she deems it is worth living. The quality of her life has been below what most people can stand for over a decade, but she marches on -- and find more happiness than many "well" people I've known. She'll get the breathing under control and then address the heart issue and I just send her love and trust that what happens is what is meant to happen. Thank you to everyone who sent me support during this latest crisis -- whether you told me you were doing so or just quietly did it, I felt loved.
