"When you open your mind and hands and heart to the knowing of a thing, there is no room in you for fear"
--Patricia McKillip, The Riddle-Master of Hed |
I am going to start filtering some of my more private musings. Since blogger does not have a tool for that, you will need to visit my Live Journal and ask to be friended there. I will continue to post Daily Gratitude and other subjects here.
There is also a FAQ for my Journal at the same link.

So, boy has been having an e-mail conversation with Mistress Blair of NY about why I need two websites when I seem to say the same things on both of them. I see the two sites as separate but entertwined. Maybe it's just in my own head that it makes sense, but it's the only head I have.
DM's Realm is about my views and experience in the BDSM & Leather worlds, both online and out in the world. Yes, there are entries in the Perceptions section that read like this journal, but those were written before I started this separate endeavor. The purpose of Realm is to collect my essays, articles, rants, musings, and history from online domme to "mean sadistic evil greedy bitch" to sadistic slave owner and forward on my path. The new design of the site will be debuting in the next week or two with clearer organization (I think) and easier navigation.
Unsuspected Depth is about my daily life: cats, spirituality, vegtarianism, pop culture, literature & arts, personal development, hobbies. These subjects don't fit into the framework I created for Realm. However, I feel the need to express them in the public forum that is the worldwide web, so I created a vanity site to do so. Because my core identity in my relationship(s) and in my social life is as a sadistic slave owner, some of the themes from Realm bleed over into pieces on Depth, but they are not the focus of the site.
Now my journals entertwine with the sites (except one).
Spirituality/Walking Ix chronicles my thoughts and progress as a spiritual being and is associated with Unsuspected Depth. I neglect it more than I ought, but I am working on spiritual discipline and it is a good reminder of that (when mercury isn't retrograde and f***ing with my ability to communicate!). There are, at times, elements of my O/p relationship discussed there (or will be), because boy and I relate as spiritual beings, not just physical and emotional people.
TV Room is a place for me (and boy) to rant about one of our favorite media. We are both intellectual, educated women. We studied television in college coursework and/or personal inquiry. Most importantly, we watch a lot of it, read about it, discuss theories, hope to someday produce our own programming, and, therefore, have definite opinions. That blog gives us the space to discuss our theories, deconstruct techniques and content, and just let the world know what we're watching -- whether anyone cares or not.
Upward Spiral is a group blog I started in early 2002 (I think). It is a separate project, but is linked to our journals. Its purpose is to provide space for people to post a "happy thought" whenever possible. Sometimes they are things happening in our lives, sometimes a website that made us smile, other times a memory of something good. Ideally, all the contributors would post every few days. However, computer issues, personal bouts of depression, and active lives sometimes interfere with that ability. We still maintain the site and try to recruit new members when we can.
As for this Journal, well, it's a record of my life and the thoughts in my head. I try to keep spiritual and television topics on their respective journals, but anything and everything else is up for grabs. Entries from this Journal may find a second home as essays on either Realm or Depth, depending on the content. Although the Journal started as part of Depth, I now consider it a bridge between the two sites and you'll find "return to" links for both for ease of navigation back to whichever brought a reader here.
See? In this logical, Virgo head, it all makes sense!! *g*
