"When you open your mind and hands and heart to the knowing of a thing, there is no room in you for fear"

I am going to start filtering some of my more private musings. Since blogger does not have a tool for that, you will need to visit my Live Journal and ask to be friended there. I will continue to post Daily Gratitude and other subjects here.
There is also a FAQ for my Journal at the same link.

I can basically divide my activities of the past few weeks into four categories: work, sleep, boy time, and distractions. That hasn't left time for journaling, e-mailing, or finishing the long promised revamp of DM's Realm. I will admit that much of the "distraction" time has been spent with boy and much of the work time I've been able to do some serious thinking and refocusing of my priorities. (Work is incredibly slow right now.) I'm just going through a very, very difficult time and it's hard to write about it.
There are two main issues in my life (see how my virgo-mind has to classify and count everything?): mysElf and my sister. The first is what I alluded to in my last post two weeks ago. The second is my ongoing attempt to accept my sister's pending death. It's hard to write about self-esteem and mortality, so I'll just describe the activities of the past few days and, maybe, distract myself a little more.
Friday:
Work actually picked up a little, so I didn't feel so bored and aimless. After work we came home for a little while and then it was shopping. Braving Walmart on a Friday night is never fun, but it was necessary. (We had planned a road trip to Prescott on Saturday and there were things needed for the trip.) Then it was shoe shopping (I *hate* spending money on shoes!) for me and having to convince myself that my feet (and knees and back) are worth two new pair of higher caliber shoes than I usually buy. We refilled our water jugs and then stopped at Panda Express on the way home. We were planning on sex & SM, but boy fell asleep watching tv and went to bed before me. oh! I had a nice conversatin on IM with Caliann and caught up with some very old friends on IRC.
Saturday:
We decided to postpone Prescott til Sunday (or later) and spent the day catching up on videotapes. I called my sister while boy was in the shower, but she wasn't home. (I spent days working up the courage to make this call, so I wasn't happy that I didn't get through.) We made a trip to Wild Oats for bulk fresh nutmeg and cloves and a few other things. When we got home boy made pumpkin bread and muffins (from pumpkin he cooked earlier in the week NOT from canned pumpkin). I had stumbled on two animation shows on VH1 that we *had* to tape (An "Inside" look at "South Park" that I'd fallen asleep during Sat night and a show called "VH1 Illustrated" that aired for the first time Sat afternoon). I took a nap while he caught up on "Joan of Arcadia" and just as I woke up and was getting ready to call my sister before it got too late, she called me. We agreed that I'd call her today because she wasn't really able to talk (physically). Then I went to the store for pasta sauce and bread for dinner (all we had on hand was Alfredo sauce and I wasn't in the mood). I also bought ice cream for the first time in months! After dinner it was more tapes and the British version of "Coupling" on PBS followed by a little spanking before some incredible sex. Then ice cream and "Stargate: SG1" -- which we both fell asleep during.
Sunday:
I managed to sleep until 9:30!! (boys says that's only the second or third time I've slept that late since we got together.) We watched "Ally McBeal" reruns (we've been doing that on weekends since FX is showing the last season and we both missed much of that--or blocked it out because it was so wretched!). After a breakfast of french toast (with that very fresh nutmeg from yesterday) and the bit of SG1 we'd slept through Sat night, we headed to the library booksale. I hadn't attended one of those since I lived in KS (where I went every year). Several hours later we emerged with 113 books (yes, the cashier had to count them) for a grand total of $11.30. Most of the books are hardbacks and some are classics. I also found two cookbooks that boy has been wanting to buy for years. Oh! and we did some dumpster rescue on our way to the sale that netted us two rolls of banner-length paper and a very ugly triangle table that we *will* be repainting. After the booksale, we stopped at Jamba Juice and then home. We watched a little of "Jamie's Kitchen" on food network (we're taping the miniseries for five hours tonight) and then I made the dreaded phone call to my sister during which boy left for his meeting. And now I'm here, typing this. I have to hand wash something to wear to work tomorrow because I can't fathom walking down to the laundry room with my feet hurting this much. boy will stop at the store after his meeting and then we'll have some sort of snacky food to supplement our Smoothie dinner (when I say snacky, I mean quesadillas or nachos -- healthy with veggies and beans, not processed snack food). Then spanking and sex and sleep.
I know I don't do the "what I did" post very often, but it was a nice distraction from the conversation with my sister. As you can see, Owner/property relationships aren't all about sex, pain and protocol--though I did get two books on ettiquette at the sale and boy found one on service.
