"When you open your mind and hands and heart to the knowing of a thing, there is no room in you for fear"

--Patricia McKillip, The Riddle-Master of Hed

I am going to start filtering some of my more private musings. Since blogger does not have a tool for that, you will need to visit my Live Journal and ask to be friended there. I will continue to post Daily Gratitude and other subjects here.

There is also a FAQ for my Journal at the same link.

health update: I've been fighting a cold for days now. I've had a scratchy throat and yesterday that led to a few bouts of coughing. Also some sinus congestion and sneezing fits. I'm pretty sure it's a result of the weather shift. I simply can't afford to get sick right now, so I refuse to give in to the symptoms. Drinking lots of juice and tea and using ricolla lozenges.

work update: after weeks of being slow, I got buried with extra duties Thursday. Besides getting more files on a daily basis, we inherited all the files from the Denver office and I have to get those prepped according to priority. Add to that I have to go through all our brokers systematically to make sure they are entered accurately in the new software and send daily reports to our home office requesting the corrections. (So far it's taking me several hours to do a single page of our list and we have *eight* pages of brokers.) We start training on said software tomorrow, so some of the office will be in Tempe training on computers every day. I'm not sure yet which day/dates I'll be training, but whether I'm at the training center or in the office, I'll be busy.

sister update: She called me Saturday morning to say she'd just come back from the emergency room with bronchitis, a stomach flu, and a potassium deficiency (from not being able to keep anything down). They gave her pills and told her to see her own doctor Monday unless her symptoms got worse. Yesterday morning she called boy after I went to work (she forgot that the end of DST meant I'm only one hour earlier and not two). She had started losing blood. After a day spent in ER and testing, they admitted her with no diagnosis. All they can do is eliminate possible causes of the bleeding until they find the correct one. And given her other health problems, they aren't likely to attempt any sort of treatment until they are sure of a diagnosis.

holiday update: I get four day weekends for both Thanksgiving and Xmas this year. We had planned to spend Thanksgiving weekend with boy's cousins in LA and Xmas with Caliann in Vegas. Now with boy's ankle, we're not sure he'll be sufficiently healed by then for hiking to the big water and walking on sand. As for going to KS for Xmas as my sister wants, there's still the money issue. My brother has confirmed he and his wife will be there for her, which makes it harder for us to say no. I'm going to have to break down and ask what my sisters "last wishes" are--whether or not we'll need to be there for the rest of the family, and whether I can process her death without the funeral/memorial/whatever should she die too soon after Xmas for us to afford a second trip. So, who knows how we'll spend those long weekends.

Now if I could just get over this "not a cold!" so that I would feel comfortable beating & f***ing my boy. We both REALLY need it.
