"When you open your mind and hands and heart to the knowing of a thing, there is no room in you for fear"

I am going to start filtering some of my more private musings. Since blogger does not have a tool for that, you will need to visit my Live Journal and ask to be friended there. I will continue to post Daily Gratitude and other subjects here.
There is also a FAQ for my Journal at the same link.
sister's health

Got an e-mail from my sister yesterday informing us that after months of warnings and reminders, she was exposed to the flu Monday night. How anyone who knows the state of her lungs and heart and immune system could come within 50 ft of her knowing they had the flu is beyond me. The docter prescribed some sort of medicine that can fend off the flu if taken within 24/48 hours of exposure (before symptoms appear), so we're all crossing our fingers/praying/etc that it will hold. Otherwise, she may become one of the statistics of the flu season. She's under orders to head to a hospital immediately should she develop symptoms. As for myself, I'm going to try not to jump everytime the phone rings at work today.
Is it bad that it's already January 2nd and we still have our December calendars up? And exactly how long before the after-Xmas/clearance crowds die down so that we can risk spending the gift cards we received without the insane parking, etc., that we faced prior to Xmas?
