"When you open your mind and hands and heart to the knowing of a thing, there is no room in you for fear"

I am going to start filtering some of my more private musings. Since blogger does not have a tool for that, you will need to visit my Live Journal and ask to be friended there. I will continue to post Daily Gratitude and other subjects here.
There is also a FAQ for my Journal at the same link.

boy and I survived the trip to Kansas. This involved navigating airports in a wheelchair (him), dealing with takeoff/landing phobias (him), enduring much pain from limited options to elevate an injured ankle (him), sleepless nights due to an uncomfortable futon (me), and giving up control of the tv, car, and our ability to move freely in general (both).
The good points? boy meeting more of my family and getting along famously. Spending an afternoon shopping in Lawrence, KS -- which involved a short road trip and a good meal at a funky Asian place as well as some interesting finds and an authentic A&W root beer float. Seeing my sister's satisfaction at having everyone together the way she requested. Noting how pleased both my parents were as well -- having all their children in one place with significant others. Godiva chocolates. Panera bakery sandwiches and soup. Mom's enchiladas (which she taught boy to make). Watching "Trading Spaces" with Mom, Brother, and Sister-in-law. Hearing Dad say he'd take the wallet-sized picture of boy and me and put it on his toolbox at work and his father being happy to get a copy of the same (well, everyone was glad to have a picture of us, but that Dad will put it somewhere visible at the plant and that my grandfather would want one of me with a woman was surprising). Watching Mom learn to refer to boy as "boy" instead of "girl" or "lady" and how happy that made boy.
