"When you open your mind and hands and heart to the knowing of a thing, there is no room in you for fear"

--Patricia McKillip, The Riddle-Master of Hed

I am going to start filtering some of my more private musings. Since blogger does not have a tool for that, you will need to visit my Live Journal and ask to be friended there. I will continue to post Daily Gratitude and other subjects here.

There is also a FAQ for my Journal at the same link.

a month
Sunday, March 14, 2004 @ 10:36

Wow. It's been over a month since I posted anything. To me it was just a connection of days where I said "I'll post something tomorrow" and suddenly it added up to over a month.

In that month boy started a new job, which he will be quitting this week. I've had a series of tests for tyroid diseases and have a three-part test this week. boys hands are flaring up again. Whatever exzema/fungus he's been fighting since last June was almost completely cleared up and then, boom!, it returns. Luckily he has a doctor's appointment scheduled for tomorrow, but it will likely be a few weeks before he can take another job. I'm dealing with the stress of working in an office that is understaffed and picking up in volume. Learning to live with the fact that there is nothing I can do to make sure all my work is done by the time I leave at the end has been very difficult. Knowing that I have a dozen files waiting on my desk as well as new vendors to process and that before I can make a dent in that there will be more new files stacking doesn't make me want to rush into the office tomorrow. When there's no overtime and no money to hire new people, you just live with the fact that you're going to be doing three jobs and not getting any of them done.

On the plus side, I've instituted new structures to the househould that we are slowly incorporating in our daily lives. We had a very intense SM scene last week. With the various stresses, scheduling conflicts, and body issues we've had, this was the first long scene we've had this calendar year. It was very much overdue. Also, we've confirmed that Mistress Blair will be staying with us next month when she comes to Phoenix for the APEX Academy/Butchman's Women's Weekend. We're looking forward to getting to know her better and to having her give boy his second cutting.

Today is the monthly MAsT meeting and we're looking forward to the topic, service vs. obedience, even though we only found out about it last night. They really need to settle on a specific weekend each month so that we can all plan in advance. Perhaps we'll go out to dinner afterward as we have a $50 gift certificate at one restaurant and a special coupon for another.

There's lots I could write and maybe I will make some time this week to do so. I'm just not focused on the internet world right now. I only check e-mail every other day or so, and even then I don't participate on lists or respond to e-mails. I'm months behind on some of my favorite blogs and find it hard to inspire myself to contribute here or on my other journals. I'm rethinking the redesign of DM's Realm. The site has been ready for months, yet I can't motivate myself to make the final tweaks and upload it. What does all that say about my interest? I guess I'll figure it out as I figure out the rest.
