upheaval
| Tuesday, September 20, 2005 @ 18:41 Last night the iguana bit boy on the foot. It was way worse than when he bit me two years ago. (Roadie is probably 2-3 times the size he was then, with much stronger jaws.) Several hours later, we returned from Urgent Care with stitches, antibiotics, and a doctor's note that boy can't work for three days -- due to pain and needing to protect the stitches. A few days ago I realized that the "right thing" for me to do is to pack up the house, make whatever arrangements I can for storage, breaking the lease, and continuing unemployment benefits, and take boy & the kids (cats & iguana) to Kansas for the winter. Yeah, it's backwards to leave Phoenix for somewhere cold. My FOO has multiple health issues. It's too depressing to go into right now. Ultimately it is the right thing for us to do and will benefit us as well as my FOO -- at least boy keeps reassuring me it will. I'm waiting to hear from someone at the office where I'm temping whether he wants to take over the last few months of our lease. Either way, I'll be approaching the landlords in a day or two to negotiate us leaving. By the end of October we'll be in Kansas one way or another...but we'll be back in 3-6 months. Just in time for the Phoenix summer.... I've entered my own surreal version of the twilight zone, I think....maybe it's because I'm having a prime number birthday for the first time in six years. Or maybe my progressed chart has finally entered Scorpio....maybe it's just time to do the shedding that I've been talking about for the last year +.
