| Thursday, June 22, 2006 @ 16:37 As promised, here is the short version of my rite of transformation/rebirth: Sunday night was camping & a ritual of release for us both. Monday, boy spent fishing and I did art and soaked up the surroundings. We broke camp and went into Lawrence to have dinner at a yummy local/fresh/veggie restaurant. It was good that my last meal before my fast came from this place. Then home to unload and sleep. Up on Tuesday to various tasks and preparations. We ended up at a local park's fishing lake for some quiet time before heading to complete my rite. to get to the point: I donated a ponytail of over 17 inches of hair to an organization called "Locks of Love" and had them shave the rest. For those who haven't seen me in awhile, there will be a photo album of before-during-after photos posted in the next few days. I'm including an "after" photo below. Both boy and mysElf will be posting longer versions of the event and the week leading up to it over the next few days/week on our journals. It was completely the right thing for me to do at this time.
