reading I have Chosen to Stay & Fight
| Wednesday, August 09, 2006 @ 07:38 I'm not so sure that reading Margaret Cho is good for me right now, but I will keep doing it. The book jumped out at me during a recent trip to the library. It's definitely forcing me to face some things about mysElf and the people in my life: racism, sexism, feminism (how come the first two are the anti forces and the last is the pro?), homophobia -- all the civil rights issues I tend to downplay in my life....because I'm not a warrior. I'm a pacifist (and why does pacifist include the word "fist"?). More later (though probably heavily filtered). It's too raw right now.
