"When you open your mind and hands and heart to the knowing of a thing, there is no room in you for fear"

--Patricia McKillip, The Riddle-Master of Hed

I am going to start filtering some of my more private musings. Since blogger does not have a tool for that, you will need to visit my Live Journal and ask to be friended there. I will continue to post Daily Gratitude and other subjects here.

There is also a FAQ for my Journal at the same link.

books I've read
Saturday, September 09, 2006 @ 06:39

I wanted to list three books I've read recently that have had a significant affect in my mental life. I hope to find time in the near future to expound on each of them, but with the clutter & chaos of moving, it might not happen. I want to at least acknowledge that they have been influential, even if I don't get around to explaining exactly how.

Covering:The Hidden Assault on Our Civil Rights by Kenji Yoshino
I Have Chosen to Stay and Fight by Margaret Cho
blog! How the Newest Media Revolution is Changing Politics, Business, and Culture by David Kline & Dan Burstein

Reading the first two at the same time was quite enlightening, as they addressed many of the same topics. And, of course, as someone who has had a blog/journal in one form or other for over seven years, seeing the history and influence of the form laid out in the third was inspirational -- and, yes, that means I'm formulating changes in this Journal and the possibility of starting a community blog in the near future.
